Nothing but a Shadow
It was afternoon, school had ended – I was walking home with the Detective Boys; Just usual routine. But for some reason or another – I keep having this feeling of being WATCHED. IT's really unnerving, and may be my paranoia. I begin to look around nervously, and as we walk, I fall back, Haibara pulling me to the side.
"Kudo-kun, what is with you? You've been nervous ever since we left school!" she says in an demanding whisper.
"A-ah it's nothing Haibara," I chuckle unconvincingly.
"Uh huh. Not very convinced. What is it?" she persists, probably planning to SQUEEZE it out of me like the little evil eyed yawny girl she is.
"I don't know. Do you have this… Feeling of being watched?" I ask cautiously, looking around.
"No. It's probably your over-active detective brain," she states in an emotionless voice that can only come from her.
"I-It must be. Thanks Haibara," I say, hiding my suspicion and nervousness.
"Come on guys, hurry up!" yells Genta, being impatient.
"A-ah, coming!" I yell back so they can hear. I run up to catch up to them, Haibara trailing behind me.
We go to the park to play soccer for a bit, me still having that strange feeling. I shrug it off. We start to head home, and eventually part our ways. Before I know it, I'm 'Home'.
I can't believe it. It's like an actual home to me. I think quietly to myself. I look around again, looking for anything overly suspicious, and enter.
"Hi Ran-neechan!" I chirp, my manliness possibly dying a little inside.
"Hey there Conan-kun! Just in time for dinner!" she says, giving me a smile that everyone gives to a child. I internally sigh.
"Ok!" I take off my gear, and go to the table. We eat, and about an hour after, it's bed time.
"Good night Conan-kun!" she says, heading into her room as I yell back Good Night as well.
I look outside my window when nobody is looking, and gaze. Why was I so nervous today? Is the B.O. on my tail? Did someone find out my identity? Unlikely, I think to myself.
All of a sudden, a shiver goes down my spine. I'm being watched again. I instantly gaze across the street, and see two people. They're looking at me. Could they be Organization members? Nah. I think to myself, shaking my head. I know this because, with my identity a secret, and until I find leads and put them down – Evil Black Organization. A dark and creepy mystery – Waiting for me to shine light on. Cause terror in every wake. But I'm not scared - Because, in reality – They're nothing but a shadow.
Did you guys enjoy this fic? Review so I can improve. Flames will be snuffed out. Thanks!
