A Dragon Age Love Story

Of Quirky Excellence

Kallie And Alistair

A/N: Ok, so say Tabris saw a boy who stayed in Denerim for a while with a rich Arl, and she had a crush on him, but of course the Arl won't let him play with elves, and KAllian and the boy are too young to understand racism. When they both become Grey Wardens years later, there is some tension. This is a songfic for Love Story by Taylor Swift. I own neither Bioware's games or Swift's songs. I am making no money. Enjoy, and please review!

P.S: The song part is made parody by my genius mind.

We were both young when I first saw you.

Kallie sighed. Life in the alienage was getting dull. All the children who lived there were either much older or much younger than she was besides Soris, who worked all day and when she was eight, she was very energetic. As she was walking back from market with her father she saw a peculiar sight. Walking down the street was a well dressed man with a grey beard and a young boy only a few years older than was she at his side.

Foolishly, Kallian sprinted over to him, much to her father's terror. "Wanna play?" She asked. The boy looked at her and was about to say something when the well dressed man looked at her in the eye and said, "He does not play with elves."

I close my eyes and the story begins, I'm standing there, in the alienage by city square.

See the crime, see the strife and the poverty,

See you make your way through the crowd, I say hello.

Little did I know…

That you're a bastard prince, and I'm a poor elf's daughter

How was I supposed to know it was cause I'm an elf?

I was crying, screaming, kicking, why did you have to go?

I said, "Daddy why can't we play? Is it because we're so poor?"

He shook his head, closed and locked the front door.

"I'll tell you when you're older,"

Ain't good enough for me.

What a sad story,

Too bad it's my life.

"You know, one good thing about the Blight is how it brings people together." Said the Warden after the mages left. Kallie was beyond weirded out. This man seemed so oddly familiar, but the scars on Kallian's face showed that her face wasn't the only thing battle-hardened about herm her memory as well.

"You are a very strange human." She said, trying to remember beyond the events that had happened in the past few weeks.

Several more years and we're both Grey Wardens.

I try to ask where I had seen you before,

You shook your head.

Said I was very sadly mislead.

But now we're both grown up and I know you better and it's not the kind of secret that you would keep.

I could do nothing to convince you, I'd just sit and weep.

I said, "Alistair I know we've met,

When we were young and innocent,"

It sounds really silly,

But It's real

Don't be a fool,

We'll make out of this someday,

It's my life story,

Turning for the worst.

After all they had been through, Kallie and Alistair finally shared their first night, and after that first night, she woke up with a start, after yet another dream of him as a child.

It was enough pretending….

Wond'rin' if your senses were ever gonna return,

My trust in you was slimming.

When we woke up after our first night, I said," Alistair, tell me, I really need to know the truth,

If you love me you will say,

If it was you that day,"

You knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said,

" Kallie, I love you I didn't want to ruin us,

I talked to the Bard,

And she'll marry us at noon today,

The past doesn't matter, the present is the Maker's light,

It's a love story, Kallie just marry me!"

"Alistair…" she said. "IS this for real? I though you'd never ask! I love you too, but this means you can't be king!"

"It'll be us against the world. With you and I on the throne it will be a blessing for elves everywhere…and humans and elves will play together without discrimination."

Cause we were both young when I first saw you.
