There was no light, non at all, not even a star in the dark sky. The rain was picking up and a young Twelve-year-old girl with short brown hair was running from something. The child of light glanced behind her and saw a giant monster, no it was no monster, she told herself. Then without warning she was falling and she could feel the scream trying to escape her lips, but before it could she landed. Cold water. Icy, cold, dark water.
'Help' the word made almost no noise, tears were flowing from her eyes now.
Smaller creatures approached her, 'Come to us light child! We want you! We will have you! Come willingly or we will take you!'
'No...please...you can't...' Her voice was leaving her
'Come!'

Tai looked at the clock, 'one a.m.' he looked back toward his sister. She was having another nightmare he was sure of it, for weeks now ever night he would hear her struggle with it then wake up. He asked what they were about hundreds of times but she never said, and that made him worry that much more. 'She used to tell me everything...'
His thoughts were interrupted when she started thrashing.
"Don't...leave me alone please..."
Tai was to her in an instant, shaking her trying to wake her up, "Kari. Kari you're just having a nightmare. Kari please" She wasn't waking.
"No...no...TAI" then her scream filled the room.
Tai's eyes were filled with worry, "Hikari!"
Her eyes opened and she sat bolt upright, sweat ran from her forehead. Then she noticed Tai.
He grabbed, pulled her into a close hug letting her cry. He hated this. All he could do was comfort her after. But he couldn't stop it from happening. He couldn't protect her. "Shhh, you're ok Hikari. I'm here. I'm here..."
But all he heard were her sobs.

A/N: I recently watched the dark ocean episodes in Japanese for the first time and was really impressed, but I was wondering why Tai wasn't helping. I mean Tai is the most overprotective big bro in the world, and his sister had been having nightmare for awhile and wasn't getting much sleep. THEY SHARE A BEDROOM for crying out loud. So I made my own reason, although Hikari wants Tai's help she doesn't tell him what they are about so he can't help... Hope you liked it.
