I

there's a dead rockstar. dozen of pills in the bathroom cabinet, an hotel room forever marked as the death scene. there is a duo that now only consist of one sad singer without any songs to sing and a corpse that probably won't go to heaven. there is whiskey.

there isn't any letter, Lorcan could write symphonies and love poems, he couldn't write this.

II

there is a kitchen in a small apartment. cocoa powder on the shelves and red wine in her glass. the phone lies forgotten somewhere on the floor where it landed after being thrown into a wall. Paris is alive outside of the open window, buzzing streets and honking cars, the usual morning rush, time still ticking on without the famous singer.

Lorcan had been dead for hours when Lucy found him, Lily thinks, sips her wine(why bother with a glass when you can drink straight out of the bottle?) Lorcan is dead and Lucy never called the ambulance, instead she phoned Lily, screamed curses and cries.

who are you supposed to call when you find someone dead, Lily asks herself, who would she call? she downs the wine, straight out of the bottle this time

III

there are two brothers, one living and one dead. they meet for the last time in the morgue, Lysander looks into the identical blue eyes that never will look back. he wonders why he's here, London is just outside of the hospital. he wants out, wants to wander along the streets and stare at the sky. he doesn't want to see this, doesn't want his dead brothers worn out leather jacket being handed to him.

"i don't want it" he tells the girl in her white coat, but she doesn't listen. she covers Lorcans dead dead eyes and dirty hair with the white sheet. Lysander leaves.

outside it's raining, the jacket is warm and shelters him from the raindrops. it smells of booze and sex and cigarettes. it smells of Lorcan. it smells of death. Lysander wears it as a cape.

IV

there are headlines and a funeral. Lorcan never got past twenty seven, his pictures in the news doesn't move and a million muggle girls cry at the sight of his blue eyes. they play his last song, sings along to the refrain.

Lucy doesn't cry in front of the cameras, the interviewer asks her question after question, she answers. the public gets irritated, they want either tears or a 'staying-strong smile'. they don't want the dead eyes or the tense demeanor. Lucy feels numb, feels like walking through a haze, the interview quickly ends

"maybe i should have seen the signs" she tells Lily the same night, a quiet whisper over the phone, thousand kilometers, "i shouldn't have left him alone so much"

"maybe"

VI

there is a dead rockstar's funeral, there are fans banging on the church doors. there is Lily and Lysander and Lucy. there is no Lorcan.
