(By the way, in my world, the puppets are all children. Harry is 12, Robin is 9, and Manny is 3. Don't you judge me.)
Today was a rainy day. The clouds were a deep shade of grey, the air filled with a humid and powerful wind, the trees swaying, leaves flying about.
Little Manny walked nervously across the black and white floor of his kitchen. "Um…Tony?" the three-year-old said.
The clock gazed down on the little boy with his deep blue eyes. "Yes, what do you want, little yellow creature?"
"I'm hungry."
"Get something out of the refrigerator then."
"I want some orange juice, but I can't reach it. It's on the tippy top shelf!"
Tony sighed. "I assume you wish for me to get you the juice?"
"I could ask Harry to lift me, if you don't wanna get up. But I don't think he'd like it if I bugged him while he's playing his saxofoam."
"It's 'saxophone', Manny. Your brothers and your father may tolerate your illiterate language, but I will not. Always speak properly."
"Yes, Tony."
"Say 'saxophone'."
"Saxofoam."
"No, 'saxophone'."
"MEH! It's PHONE! SAXOPHONE!"
"…saxo…phone?"
"Better." Tony handed the toddler the carton of orange juice. "I must say, you are exceptionally smart for a tot."
"Thank you!" the yellow boy said cheerily. He poured his turquoise glass half full, then Robin's red one, followed, by Harry's blue one. He preferred green, but Paige wouldn't allow him to buy the green glass. "Tony, can I use the sliver tray?"
"The WHAT?"
"The sliver tray."
"You mean the SILVER tray?"
"Oh, silver! I'm sorry, Tony, I didn't mean to1"
"No. Since you cannot seem to use proper English, you may not use the silver tray. You may use the copper tray."
"Okie-dokie…"
"WHAT!?"
"I mean- OKAY! OKAY!"
"MEH MEH MEH MEH MEH MEH MEH MEH MEH!"
"AHH! ROBIN!" Manny yelled, covering his ears.
Robin charged into the room. "Tony! Tony, he didn't mean it whatever he did!"
"He's mad at me because I said 'okie-dokie'!"
"TONY! I'LL TEACH HIM PROPER ENGLISH, I WILL!"
The clock man ceased his screaming. He cleared his throat. "Very well. Get your tray and leave me be, you yellow pest."
Manny hurriedly placed the three cups on a tray, running toward the living room. He nearly fell backward trying to stop himself.
He almost ran right into Paige.
