This is a little poem I wrote while reading Hannibal for the first time. It's kind of long, but I think it's ok. It's about how people view Starling and her life, and how blind they can be to the truth, when she is living a lie. Also kind of directed to her father. Tell me what you think!

Fly Away Starling- (title inspired by my friend)

Can't hide behind those hazel eyes

Their darkness cannot hide the pain

Won't give you shit about the hard times

She's got no reason to complain

All the money and the glamour

One would think she's got it all

One more crack will bring her lower

One more step and she will fall

Pretty Agent in the unit

Made famous from one interview

Acting, laughing, smiling fakeness

All of it she did for you

Time is priceless and depressing

Articles claiming careless love

Floating in them, under, and between them

Flowing over and above

Every lie that they where making

Someone had to pay this lot

All is taken, none is given

Leaving less than what she's got

If he comes back she knows what to do

Leave with him or make him stay

Soon to be flying with no more sadness

All her tears would go away

So then she'll let them cry in sadness

For the missing girl who chose to go

No one would stop her and wouldn't know to

Leading to the splendid show

Among the crowd she'd blend in with him

Walking with him in the rain

But none of this will ever happen

She's a saddened Angel once again

When he comes she doesn't fight it

She just takes off and now they know

She never lived the life she wanted

It was all a senseless show

She took his hand and kissed his lips

They soared above the crystal sky

Now she's happy, no more crying

Fly away Starling, fly fly fly
