The day Ino got her license Sakura's life took a wild ass turn onto Crazy Lane. Of course, when Ino suggested they go on a road trip, Sakura had said no and the conversation dropped, and she had been foolish enough to believe that that was the end of it. But just like all of Ino's other crazy schemes, Sakura got sucked into the whirlwind of it all.
It was a mistake to leave Ino alone with her parents, she knew that. One would think that Sakura had learned her lesson the first hundred times Ino had convinced her parents into unknowingly throwing her under the bus, but no. One bathroom break later and she was going on a stupid road trip where Ino would probably end up getting her involved in a murder.
So there she was, in the sweltering heat of July, hugging her parents goodbye and then angrily stuffing her bags into the RV Ino had borrowed from her dad.
"Sure hope you don't crash this thing, Pig." Sakura said, glaring at Ino as she climbed into the passenger's seat.
Ino laughed as she started the engine, "Please, Forehead. You know I'm a better driver than you." She retorted.
Ino pulled out of the driveway and into the street.
Their journey had begun.
Sakura carefully dabbed red nail polish on her little toe, "There!" she exclaimed. She stretched her legs out on the dashboard and wiggled her toes to admire the color. They'd been driving for about an hour and were well out of the city. The highway they were on was nearly empty, but every once and while Sakura would spot some wild flowers on the side of the road or an occasional car. Sakura turned her head to Ino to ask where they were going but before she could get a word out Ino slammed on the brakes and Sakura jolted forward in her seat. Sakura was thrown to the side as the RV swerved off the road and into a ditch. Ino and Sakura both screamed as they were jostled around due to the rough terrain. Once the RV had stopped moving, Sakura carefully peeked through her fingers. No broken windshield. Good.
She turned to Ino, "What the fuck?" She yelled.
"I don't give a shit if there was a rabbit! You don't lose control of the damn RV! Now we're stuck in a fucking ditch and it'll take a tow truck at least and hour to get out here." Sakura sighed and sat down on a nearby rock.
"Hey now, Sak, just think of this as the first challenge in our road trip adventure!" Ino patted Sakura on the back, trying to calm her friend down.
Sakura took a deep breath and nodded. "Yeah... sorry for freaking out on you. But seriously, how are we going to get the RV out of this ditch?"
Ino frowned and then shrugged. "Guess we'll have to call the tow truck. But while we wait, why not tan?"
Sakura rolled her eyes, but got up anyway to go help Ino find the tanning lotion. Just as she was dusting her shorts off though, a huge black SUV pulled up on the side of the road. The passenger's window rolled down and a blonde guy poked his head out. "Hey, you look like you could use some help, yeah."

(A/N: Thank you so so so much for reading. This is my first fanfic in a very long time and constructive criticism is welcome since I'm looking to improve my writing.
EDIT: I have rewritten this first chapter because I didn't like the POV or the length)
