Hidetoshi felt like he wasn't good enough for Minako. Minako Arisato, the girl with ruffled brown hair and a smile that makes his day. To be honest, he didn't think much of her once she transferred. But somehow, she got into the student council because the president herself invited her. An invitation from the president herself must only mean she's an amazing woman. And she was.
On the few remaining days until graduation day, Hidetoshi confessed something to her that he tried to tell her the entire time he was with her. "I'll tell you someday when I'm more worthy of you." Of course, these words didn't affect the female. She paused, looking puzzled for a moment as her faced warmed up and she smiled sweetly at him. Different than any of the other times she grinned widely at him.
A few days passed when it was finally graduation day. On his way to the main hall, he stopped a familiar brunette from running towards the roof. "Hey, don't run in the halls. I thought we already established this." She paused when he called out to her, only to continue on while yelling, "I'm sorry, Odagiri-kun! I'm in a huuuuge rush! I'll see you later!" And then she was gone. He waved at her and turned, continuing his stride to the main hall.
He didn't see her once the ceremony happened, he sighed and realized she was probably still running towards that place with all of her energy. 'Don't use up all of your energy and die young because of that...' His thought was interrupted as the President paused. There were other shouts in the crowd as a large group began to run out the doors. Mitsuru included. Teachers called out after them, they realized they wouldn't catch up to them and asked Hidetoshi to go look for them. "Alright. I'm on it." He said, while trying to catch up with the slowest of the group. It was odd, the president usually never froze up like this. He heard yelling and cheerful voices on the highest floor, which meant they were probably on the roof celebrating or something.
He shrugged it off as he calmly walked up the stairs, expecting to hear their voices. Instead, he heard muffled sobs through the door. An eyebrow raised, he opened the door as his eyes widened.
Surrounded by the members who left, including a dog and a student who rarely came to school. There she was. Her brown ruffled hair and relaxed expression, she was rested on the blonde transfer student's lap. She looked so peaceful, it looked like she was in a deep sleep. The others didn't notice someone else entering the room as the female with light brown hair collapsed in tears. "No.. she didn't deserve this." She said through muffled crying as everyone else agreed silently.
That can only mean one thing. Minako was dead and nobody could see her smile ever again.
