"Do you think this dress makes my butt look big." Spencer's girlfriend, aviana, asks while twirling around in a red dress and paying close attention to her reflection in the department store mirror.
"I think your massive boobs make your butt look small. Maybe a bigger butt would be more proportionately accurate." I reply honestly, glancing up from my book for only a minute. That's all the time it takes, really, for anyone with eyes to see that red is definitely not her color.
"Ashley!" Spencer scolds feigning seriousness with a small smirk playing across her lips.
"What? You don't see it?" I say. I add in a shrug of the shoulders for dramatic effect.
"Leave her alone. Be nice. I think it looks great, honey." Spencer replies. She gives Avi a kiss on the cheek and brushes a strand of hair from her face.
"Thanks, baby, im going to try the blue one on. Tell me if you like that one better!" The girlfriend scurries off into the dressing room.
"Compared to the plethora of insults ive amassed in my head over the last two hours of shopping with the two of you, trust me, this is mother teresa nice." I conclude after Aviana retreats and I'm left alone with Spencer sitting beside me in the most uncomfortable chairs known to man. Some sort of primitive caveman-esque chair made of wood and topped off with a thin slice of fabric that im guessing is meant to be passed off as "cushion". Apparently this particular department store has budgeted enough to manage three full length mirrors in the dressing rooms and the chairs must have taken the hit. If this were high school the mirrors would be the football team and cheerleaders. The chairs would be the chess club.
"Well were almost done." she smiles at me.
"Yes, you said that two hours ago. You're quite the broken record, my friend." I say in an emotionless tone. Im actually really into this book right now.
"You know, while were here we should pick you up a cute little strapless number and some sexy shoes for the party tonight. What do you say?" Spencer grabs the book from my hands and proceeds to stick it between her ass and the caveman chair shes sitting on. Extra cushion I presume. Shes smiling and laughing and leaning over on the armrest of the chair, basically inviting herself into my personal space. I can smell her perfume. It smells pretty.
Sometimes her scent makes me a little lightheaded. I wonder what fragrance she uses.
"I say that unless your strapless comment was a sexual reference alluding to your lesbianism, it's a no go, darling. Why don't you go and help the mrs. With her butt dress." I try to retrieve my book by stretching my arm over her but she blocks my attempt by pushing her lady bossom into my path.
"Stop calling her that." she sighs.
"What? She's your girlfriend, it seems fitting, unlike that dress she tried on an hour ago that was hugging her in all the wrong places. Aye aye aye. No gracias, senorita." I shake my head reminiscing the nightmare of a dress from earlier.
"Omg. Youre so mean." she laughs and throws her head back.
"You laugh cause you know its true." I say with a serious face.
"Thanks for coming, I probably would have been bored out of my mind if id had to sit through this without you." she wraps her arms around me and engulfs me in a soft hug, laying her head on my shoulder.
She smells so good.
"Drinks, after?" I say absentmindedly.
"Definitely." I can feel her smile into my shoulder.
"baby, come help me" Aviana voice echoes from the dressing room down the hall.
