Disclaimer: I clearly don't own Wolf Children.
"I never got to do anything for you."
He whirled around. How could she say that? She had done everything she possibly could, more than anyone could have ever expected of her. She had done so much for him, for both of them.
Seeing her like that, on her knees, broken, crying in the rain destroyed him. He wanted to change back, to have hands again, to wipe away her tears, arms so he would hold her like she held him. He wanted to hold her, to breathe in that smell of home, until she was smiling again.
But he couldn't. If he did, he'd never be able to leave. If he did, and she stopped crying, he'd never have the heart to try to leave again. Because then she'd cry again, and he couldn't bear doing that to her twice.
So he turned and he left, left his mother, his family, his home, his everything. Left her crying in the rain.
AN: just a little thing I wrote down a few weeks after seeing Wolf Children. I love that movie, because apparently I like balling my eyes out. I hope you enjoy and maybe leave a review.
