A/N: Okay, I guess I shouldn't be writing another oneshot while so many stories are still waiting for an updating... but, you know what? Screw that. I simply have to write this. I realized I never wrote an oneshot about my favorite pairing, Zelink... or, better, Zelink/Shink! Yes, because the kind of Zelink I love most is where Zellie cross-dresses and Link has no idea that his weirdly effeminate friend is actually a girl, the girl he loves no less! So, yeah. Here Sheik is female, but I'll use the pronoun "he", 'cause Link thinks she is a guy. Enjoy.

"Augh!"

"Sheik!"

Link turned, only to see his mysterious Sheikah friend fell on the ground, clutching his arm in pain and covered by the blood pouring from a large gash. A stalfos cackled deeply, raising his sword to finish the boy off. Before it could actually complete the motion, a green blur appeared behind it, smashing the creature's skull in a lot of small pieces with his sword.

He offered a hand to the boy on the ground, worry dripping from his voice. "You okay, Sheik?"

The Sheikah nodded, accepting the hand with a slight blush. "I was doing just fine. You don't need to worry about me."

"Sure you were" Commented Link, searching for any other injuries with his gaze. When he found none, he smiled, relieved.

"I'm serious, Link." Sheik was looking at him, his ruby eyes full of seriousness and a faint redness still on his half-covered cheeks. "You shouldn't be babysitting me. I'm not a kid."

The Hylian hmped, rolling his eyes. "I am neither, but you still treat me like one. Why is that?"

Sheik smiled.

"While your body may be the one of an adult, your hearth is still the one of a child." He poked Link's chest with a finger, still smiling. "I'll do everything to protect the little ten years old hidden in there."

Navi chuckled, earning a sour look from a blushing Link. "And now he has the upper hand again..."

"Hm, yeah, whatever. You're still bleeding, Sheik."

The warrior grimaced. "Shit-"

Navi gasped in mock horror. "Sheik! Don't swear in front of the baby!"

Death

darkness

the corpses...

the women from the desert...

it burns...

Impa is screaming...

What is she saying?

Run?

But where?

There is only death... everywhere...

Run, Princess... he's coming...

Her hearth is full of terror, now.

Because she knows who he is.

The man with golden eyes, ruby hair and bronze skin.

The King of the Thieves.

Ganondorf.

The large Gerudo comes forward, holding tightly the same sword that had just trespassed her father's chest effortlessly.

Princess! Shouts Impa.

Princess!

Sheik!

Unable to hold back, she screams in pure horror.

SHEIK!

She opened her eyes, breathing erratically and her hearth beating stronger than a drum.

She returned the hug to the warm, green thing that was holding her, thankful for its closeness.

Then, in a jolt, she recognized what it was.

It was Link.

What was he supposed to do?

When Sheik had woken up, screaming (with an oddly feminine voice), he'd almost have an hearth attack. Tough, he guessed he couldn't really complain: he'd had several, terrifying nightmares since he'd woken up from his seven years sleep, all caused by the destruction he'd seen in the last month or so. He couldn't imagine what Sheik must've been through, in seven years.

He didn't know what to do. When he woke up screaming during Sheik's guard turn, his friend would pat him soothingly on the back, telling him it had been just a dream. However, from the look on the boy's face, this looked far more devastating than any nightmare he'd ever had.

So, he did the first thing that came into his mind.

He hugged him tightly, like Saria would do when he was little, stroking lightly his hair, and just held him closer when he returned the hug. It was oddly... comforting.

After a few seconds, the smaller boy gasped, and stared at him, eyes wide.

Sheik blushed and released him. "I- uh- I- sorry."

Link looked at him, still not freeing him from the strong hold, surprised. "For what?"

"For... hugging you. Sorry. Really. You don't need to hold me like that, really. I'm okay now." Sheik was quickly becoming of a bright red color.

"Why should you say sorry for hugging me?" Link was even more confused now.

The Sheikah sighed. "Link... you see, there are a few... actions, that are considered... inappropriate, in the grownups' world." He spoke slowly, like he was trying to explain some difficult concept to a little kid.

Link snorted irritated, still refusing to let his friend go. "And hugging is one of those things? Do you really think I'll believe it? I've seen people hugging in public, and no-one ever complained."

"Who did you saw hugging, Link?"

"Well, those two Hylians in Kakariko, for example... the woman with red hair and the man with brown hair. They hug all the time, I actually wonder if they eat or sleep at all."

"And, don't you notice a little difference between them and us?" Asked Sheik, softly.

The hero thought about it for a moment. "No, not really, aside for..." His eyes widened, and he looked at Sheik, mildly shocked.

"It's because we are both guys?" When the ninja nodded, he grumbled.

"That's stupid! What does it change your being a man?"

"A lot of things!"

Link blinked at Sheik's outburst.

"Link, Kokiris and little children don't think about it, but for adults it's different! Men don't randomly embrace someone of their same sex like-" The young man quieted suddenly.

"Like what?"

When he didn't answer, Navi decided it was the moment to enter the quickly becoming awkward conversation.

"Now I get it! The blushing, the fidgeting... bawww, poor little homo!" She giggled.

Sheik yelped, finally freeing himself from Link's embarrassing hold. "What?! I'm not a homo!"

"Yeah, right..."

Link looked alternatively at his two best friends, confused.

"I'm serious!"

"Someone is in deeee-niaaaal..."

"Am not! I'm... metrosexual."

"Sheik, it's not healthy to lie to yourself like this..."

"Navi, shut up!"

"Not until you admit you're gay!"

"I'm not going to, because I'm not!"

And then, something totally unexpected happened.

"I am gay. Well, sometimes."

Navi and Sheik turned and stared wide-eyed at Link, who looked confused beyond measure at their reaction.

"You... what?" Stuttered the fairy, mildly shocked.

"Link, do you at least know what gay means?" Asked Sheik, uncertain.

"Of course I do!" Cried indignantly Link. "Gay means 'happy', 'joyful'... doesn't it?"

"..."

"..."

"What?"

The lethal combination of the body of a hot seventeen years old and the naivety of a little kid.

In that moment, Sheik's thoughts ecame highly inappropriate.

A/N: I accept every advice about how to improve this oneshot... I'm not so sure it came out as good as I first had in mind. Anyway, I always loved naïve!Link. He's simply too cute, not to mention that it's the most probable scenario.
