Whiskey Lullaby

Katniss POV

Today is the day I have been dreading for the past couple of days. Today is Maysilee's and Haymitch's funeral. Me and Peeta have wrote a song about their deaths and we are going to sing when we bury them. We decided to bury them in their favorite spot, Under the Willow. "Katniss and Peeta Mellark have prepared some thing for us so can they please come up here and sing it, We walk up there and the music starts and Peeta starts singing.

She put him out

Like the burning end of a midnight cigarette

She broke his heart

He spent his whole life trying to forget

We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time

But he never could get drunk enough

To get her of his mind

Until the night.

And then I joined him for the chorus.

He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger

He finally drank away her memory

Life is short but this time it was bigger

Then the strength he had to get up off his knees

We found with his face down in the pillow

With a note that said I loved her til I died

And when we buried him beneath the willow

The angles sang a whiskey lullaby

La la la la la la la la

Then I sang the next verse by myself

The rumors flew

But nobody knew how much she blamed her self

For years and years

She tried to hide the whiskey on her breath

She finally drank her pain away a little at a time

But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind

Until the night

And the Peeta joined me for the chorus.

She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger

And finally drank away his memory

Life is short but this time it was bigger

Then the strength she had to get up off her knees

We found her with her face down in the pillow

Clinging to his picture for dear life

We laid her next to him beneath the willow

While the angles sang a whiskey lullaby

La la la la la la la la la

And when the song finish everyone clapped but most of them had tears in there eyes and the next thing you know I burst out crying and then me and Peeta headed home and the really depressing part was that Haymitch and Mayislee were never going to meet their grandchild. That's right I'm pregnant.

Hope you like it and no I do not own the Hunger Games or the lyrics to Whiskey Lullaby.
