A/N: Sequel to Changing Tides. Review please!

She just didn't care anymore. It was one of those cliché chick-flick moments where the main female protagonist becomes all depressed about her true love's departure.

Except in Chloe's case, the one she loved was dead. There would be no tearful, heartfelt reunion.

She had always hated those weak characters who couldn't cope without their significant other. Now Chloe could sympathize- to a point. Some characters still deserved no sympathy. "Cheer up," she would order the characters from the couch.

Chloe tried giving herself the same advice but depression had a firm hold on her that she didn't really feel like breaking at the moment. In a day or two she would try. For now though, she wanted to wallow in her misery. Surely she could be forgiven if she took two weeks to mourn him. At least it wasn't four months.

She didn't want to believe it

She tried not to believe it.

It couldn't be true.

But all evidence- though it was evidence provided by the Edison Group- pointed to one irrefutable point.

Derek was dead.
