"Come on Peter, stop being such a wuss," Sirius complained for the millionth time, wondering yet again why they bothered hanging out with Wormy at all. "It's just a harmless prank."
"Yeah Wormy, what's the harm," James taunted looking forward to playing yet another prank on Snivellus and seeing the look on his face.
"What's the harm? We could get detention again, and Dumbledore will write home to my mum – she'll send me another howler." Peter whined
James, Remus and Sirius recalled that howler clear as day, and each suppressed a laugh.
"Fine Peter, we'll do the prank without you; see you at breakfast, come on Prongs, Moony" Sirius said, and all three exited the dorm room.
The Marauders snuck down to the Kitchen's and convinced the House Elves to let them in saying they needed some food because they were going to spend the entire morning in their Common Room revising for their big exam later that day.
They stalked over to the food that was being laid on the table for Slytherin House, and got to work.
The Marauders roared with laughter as they entered the Great Hall, and found Wormtail squirming in his seat. They sat down and watched the food to appear watching Snivellus with rapt attention as he grabbed some toast and took a bite.
As soon as he took the bite he face started to become covered in spots and turned bright red, and suddenly he started to rise up into the air.
James whipped his wand out and silently cast a spell to turn Snivellus upside down and moved him so he was hovering in the middle of The Great Hall. Everyone was watching the events unfolding sand stifling their laughter.
Sirius took his wand out and muttered a spell that made Snivellus loose his pants, at which point everyone stifled laughter exploded out, all except one very angry Lily Evans.
"Potter," she yelled quietly, "You think this is funny."
"Just a little Evans, he deserves it. Just yesterday he tripped old Wormy hear and glued him to the wall." James replied. "This is how you say, a little light revenge."
Peter's face turned red with embarrassment and muttered "You don't have to broadcast it Prongs."
"That's no excuse, and you wonder why I won't go out with you. It's childish things like this." And with that she stormed off.
By the time the Marauders had finished conversing with Lily, McGonagall had undone their spell and sent Snivellus packing to the Hospital Wing and was stood in front of them glaring.
"50 points from Gryffindor, and the four of you have detention for a whole week."
James, Sirius and Remus exchanged a look that clearly said it was worth it, whilst Peter sobbed quietly to himself knowing what he would be waking up to tomorrow
