Their paths never crossed for the rest of the day until both of them were in the great hall. Marcus eyed her from the moment she stepped in. He saw that Genevieve was searching the Slytherin table for him and finally spotted him. He saw her giggle again and settled down for her meal.

He really wanted to know why she laughed so he strode across the great hall towards the Ravenclaw table. Many pairs of eyes followed him. "So... are you going to tell me why you were laughing?" Marcus asked. "No..." Genevieve giggled as she ate some pasta. "Come on..." "It's nothing. I just felt like laughing." Genevieve said as she got up from the table. Marcus followed her outside ignoring the many stares. "Come on Welisher, no one laughs for nothing." "Okay, if you must know, I just thought..." "Thought what?" "Thought you looked cute." "Cute?" "Cute..." Marcus let out a laugh and Genevieve giggled as well. There was no one else around, no one but them. Marcus made an attempt to hold her hand but he was not successful. After a few attempts, He managed to hold her hand but he let go almost immediately in fear. Genevieve looked at him questioningly; Marcus could only blush in embarrassment. Genevieve giggled yet again. He studied her, she was so beautiful. Inside and out. He could not control himself; he just reached out for her hand and held it. He smiled and led her outside.

"Marcus?" Genevieve questioned.

He did not reply and only held her hand tighter. He shifted a little and put his arm around her. He heard her giggle into his chest as she put her arms around him. That took him by surprise but he did not stir. His strong arms shifted her to face him. Genevieve smiled and stared at her feet. He gently forced her to look straight at him and then hugged her tightly, very tightly. "Marcus, I..." she tried saying with her pressed against him. "Yes?" Marcus asked as she drew from him. "Nothing." she smiled as she drew him back into the embrace. She felt warm, safe and secure. Something she never felt before. Marcus on the other hand felt protective, excited and content. He withdrew and looked at her intently brushing away the hair from her face and bent in to kiss her. It was awhile before he realized she was not kissing him back. He withdrew immediately to find Genevieve in a state of shock. "Isn't this all to fast?" Genevieve questioned? "I... I'm sorry. I got too excited." "Excited about what?" She questioned this time a bit angrily. "I just never got this close to anyone before." "So you took advantage of me..." "No, it's not like that." "Just because you never hugged anyone before, you took advantage of it to kiss me?" "No... no... listen. I..." "You don't like me, much less love me! You just wanted to kiss someone... It wouldn't matter if I were anyone else would it?" She practically screamed and stalked off. "No... Genevieve... Listen!" Marcus ran after her but she was fast, too fast.
