"You believe that Santa exists?" Naruto guffawed at Konohamaru's revelation. "Impossible-Impossible," he said, crushing the kid's hopes altogether with a dismissive wave of his hand. "That's only for stupid people!"

"He does exist!" the kid insisted with a knowing look, his finger pointing upwards. "He sneaks in our room at night."

It just sounded so ridiculous that Naruto didn't know if he should laugh or cry. Thinking that both options are poor, he opted to ruffle the little kid's black spiky hair.

In fact, he always waited for Santa to come to his room before. One time, he even got so frustrated that he cried and rushed to Iruka-sensei to ask why Santa never wanted to grant his wishes. Even if he was trying his best to be a good kid.

Ah, the folly of his youth.

Now, his twelve-year-old self could only look back and laugh.

Iruka-sensei revealed to him that Santa is just a make-belief character. It's just a figure created by parents to make their children more delusional.

And since he never had a father and had never seen his mother, he never had his Santa.

With a sigh, he looked at Konohamaru and smiled out wearily. "Ah, just be a good boy. He'll probably listen to you."

That night, the blond-headed man could only gape at the small box lying atop his bedside table. Placed neatly above it was a small note that read,

Stop waiting for something that'll never happen. – S

The handwritten was painfully familiar, but the note just didn't make sense. Does letter 'S' stand for Santa? He could only wonder.

"Impossible," he muttered to himself as he pry the box open. "I don't have parents, Santa will never be here."

But as soon as his eyes found the object, there were no words left to speak.

Tears only fell from his eyes and dampened the small object as they fell.

Maybe Santa really was there.

Post-story note! Mystery S is, of course, Sasuke. XD What the gift was…LOL. I decided to keep it a secret. =)))
