I hate mirrors…

I really hate mirrors

"Tohru!" Shit, shit, shit, shit.

I really, really, hate mirrors

"TOHRU!"

I could hear the rushed footsteps from behind the bathroom door, followed by an almost timid knock, "I'm here, Lina!"

My fingers lightly grazed the cool surface of my reflection, "It's open…"

The door creaked slightly as it slid opened and Tohru pushed herself into the small opening. She paused briefly to close it behind her, before fully looking at me, "Oh my." She pressed her fingers to her lip in an attempt to hide her shocked expression.

Yeah, it didn't work.

"So it really is that bad, huh?"

"Ummm, well I wouldn't quite say tha-" And that's when I knew it was just as terrible as I thought it was. So much for it just being my own self-conscious working against me.

"Please tell me you have some sort of straightener."

Tohru's face started to get that panicked 'I-blame-myself-for-this-very-natural-event-happening' look to it.

"A curling iron?"

She shook her head no

"Any sort of hair products that can fix this?"

"Uh, Hair clips"

A dull silence fell between the two women. The only noise was Shigure trying to settle some new dispute between Yuki and Kyo somewhere downstairs. Time was slowly ticking away, and Melina still need to get her school uniform on. She was cutting it close this morning, "Yeah. Hairclips may help a little."

"OK! I'll go get them. Right Away!

Tohru was out and running towards her room in a matter of seconds, leaving Melina along with that god-forsaken mirror.

Note to self: Buy an extra straightener.

No longer feeling that initial sense of fear and panic, Melina raised her head towards her reflection. Her dark hair had become a mess of frizzy small curls sometime during the night, most likely due to a combination of wet hair and her tossing about in bed. Usually this is when she would pull out her magic hot iron and fix this mess. It would've been nice to be able to do that now. But of course out of everything I had to forget to bring over last night, it had to be the one thing I personally needed. Dammit.

"Here! I got them!" SMACK

"Tohru-kun!"

"I'm ok….I promise!"

Melina made a move to go check on her friend when the door slid open again, "Are these good enough?"

Tohru had an assortment of bobby-pins and multicolored clips lying on the bathroom counter, and was staring at them intently.

"I'm sure I'll be able to do something with them. Thanks Tohru."

Lifting her head, Tohru gave a small nod, "I'll grab your uniform and leave it outside for you."

"Perfect. I'll be downstairs in abit. Eat without me alright?"

"I'm sure they'd be willing to wait for you"

"I don't want to make us late though. No worries."

"Alright. Well…see you soon Lina"

Alone again

"Mmmm" Ok, now what to do with this?
