Challenge Word: Pillow


The seatbelt clicked, ensuring that her youngest son was secured in the pillowed car seat. Her little angel asked, "Mama, can you lock my door? I don't want the werewolf to get me."

"Where'd you hear about werewolves?"

"Eric."

The teen in the front seat shrugged. "He woke up while I was watching TV."

The glare she gave her firstborn promised a long discussion later. She assured her baby, "Sweetie, werewolves are just pretend."

She stepped out of the car and found herself face-to-face with a horrifying creature. She screamed, the creature charged, and white-hot fire lit across her belly.

A/N: This drabble was inspired by a conversation I had last week with my four-year-old foster-niece while strapping her into the car. Only, instead of "werewolf", insert "Freddie".
