The two couple ordered their drinks at a bar. The man a beer and a martini for the lady. She looked up and saw a picture of the Lock Ness monster's head coming out of the water. It looked real."Look, Jess! Do you think she's real?" she asked."Angela," Jess sighed, "she's a legend, a fake, a maya!" Jess said."What in the name of God is a maya? Maya is a name." She said."Well it is the Mexican word for illusion.""That picture ye be looking at is a fake. But there is a fantastic story behind it. Would you like to hear it my young friends?" A man asked. He sat at a table pushed up against the wall under a window. He had a black fedora, a long dark grey coat, and black leather gloves. Angela sat down across from him."Yes! We most certainly would!" Angela exclaimed."Angela we have to g-""It all started about 30 years ago. A young child named Anastasia sat in her bed reading a book called 'To Kill a Mockingbird."

Anastasia heard the sound of cars pulling up. She ran to look out her window. Army wagons, jeeps, and cars pulled up."Dad!" Anastasia yelled excited. She went out her window and grabbed the rope that hung from the tree in front of her window. She reached the bottom and ran over to the captain. "Sir Salute!" Anastasia saluted him. He saluted back and smiled. Anastasia's mother came up. "Sir Captain." She said. He nodded to her mom and whispered something to her. "Ummm.. Anastasia, go down to the ocean for an hour or so please dear. Take your bike and ride quicky, please dear." She told her. Anastasia's smiled disapeared. She nodded and rode away on her bike. Once at the ocean she walked up to it and allowed her feet to soak in the water. It was cold, icey. She walked around the rocks. She jumped from place to place never about to fall off. Eventualy she found that she had swung from a vine that had been on a tree and had gone right over to a little island. Sharp rocks jutted out of the water all around it. The only way to get there was by the vine. She got the vine and took pieces off to make it look old and unsafe but it was realy even stronger! his would be her new hide-out. She went and sat on the little beach that it had. There was a lot of drift wood. She would make a tree house in one of the trees! She was collecting some woud and vines when she came across a emerald colored egg. It was large and oval shaped. She grabbed it and out it in her back pack. She had a very big pile within two hours. The island was about five miles in curcumference. She enjoyed the... aloneness she felt on the island. Anastasia had no friends, she was a loner. She looked over and saw that the sun was setting. She had been at the beach for three hours! She ran, got her back pack, swung on the vine back to land, got on her bike, and went home.
