Lance was walking by the old streets of this new city, a noisy loud city, so different from the little town he had grown up in. It was a whole new world, full of new experiences. He had gotten his dream job here and had been able to get an apartment with fantastic views a few days after his arrival. Everything was perfect, well, almost perfect. He wanted to know someone special here, someone that could shake him as nobody else had been able to before.
Maybe a girl with dark brown skin as him and beautiful eyes, he would love to see some blue eyes every morning when he woke up, someone brave and daring, his momma would love her and would invite her to come over every weekend. She could play with his nephews and have long talks with his sisters, maybe when they come back to home, he could cook for her and make her relax, they could watch a movie together later till they fell asleep in the couch, ah, yes, that would be definitely beautiful.
His thoughts were interrupted with the strong sound of a horn and the feeling of a strong gust of wind pushing his body back. Looking to his right he realized he had crossed the street with the traffic light in red, now a motorcycle was on the ground on the opposite side. Someone had deviated in order not to hit him.
Lance ran beside the driver, who was wearing their helmet and was sitting on the ground, touching their knee which seemed to be bleeding.
"Oh gods ,sorry , I wasn't paying attention I'm really sorry. I should call an ambulance or some-"
"It´s okay", a deep strong voice said as he took his helmet off, "I'm actually a doctor and it´s just a scrape."
Lance was shocked, the boy behind the helmet had the most beautiful blue-purple eyes he had never seen, a smile that could bright the darkest day and pale skin like the snow of his childhood.
"Even so, I feel so guilty. Is there something I can do?"
"Yeah", the dark-haired boy said, "you could buy me lunch. I'm Keith."
Lance laughed. Maybe the girl he had been dreaming with would never come; maybe he had found his soulmate in a complete different way, but his momma would still be happy.
"Sure, run on my own. But dinner is up to you."
Boi, oh boy. English can be hard sometimes, but I definitely love it when I can use it for the things I love.
