The Dance Rivalry

Hello there! My name is Sir Nicolaus but you can call me Nearly Headless Nick, and I am the Gryffindor host at Hogwarts. I've seen many people and their stories, here at the school, and Harry Potter's is barely interesting compared to some other's. I'm here to tell you some, but today we only have time for one.

In 1976 there was a guy in Hufflepuff house and he had a great rivalry with a boy in Gryffindor. A dance rivalry! They would dance all day to get those spicy Hogwarts girls' attentions, and they would get their attentions!(Okay, not really but this is for the story.)

One day, they spotted a poster in the dining hall that said, Calling all dancers! We're having a special Valentines dance on February 11th in the dining hall after dinner; bring a date if you can for a special dance of the night. The two boys ran off to find the lucky ladies.

Now, the boy in the Hufflepuff house is Sherman or Shermy for short. Shermy stalked all the sixth year girls at Hogwarts(He's so romantic!) and he chose a few of them to ask. His first mission was to ask Lucy Lovegood. He walked over to her during lunch when she was reading her Squibbles magazine and said, "Miss Lovely Lovegood, could I make your day better by asking if you would go to the Valentines dance with myself?" Lucy looked up from her article about Snorkacks and replied with, "Who are you?"

The next girl he decided to invite was named Rosanna(She seemed like books a lot and was reading one at the time.) whom he strutted over to in dinner. Sherman repeated almost the same thing he said to Lovegood but Rosanna just said, "No." without even looking up from her story.

Finally, he got to the last name on his list, and it was Patty Wagner of Hufflepuff. Patty Wagner is so fiiine. I hope she says yes. Shermy thought to himself. He went to her in the Hufflepuff lounge and repeated almost the same things he said to the other girls... and Patty agreed!

Next, Sherman had to do hours and hours of procrastinating on homework to wait around for the dance to come. Finally, it was February 11th, the day of the dance. So, after dinner, Shermy waited in the Hufflepuff lounge for Patty. When she was finally ready, Sherman muttered under his breath,"Daham! She's looking soooo fine tonight."

When they arrived at the dance, the dining hall had all sorts of extravagant decorations. The dancing music stared and everyone pulled out their dates... the fruit! Sherman ignored this and found his rival, Evan of Gryffindor. Evan was in the middle of a dance circle, so he hopped in to compete. At first, Shermy only danced... then he became less focused because of his rival's dancing... then he was completely focused on Evan's dancing. He was so good! Now, everyone stopped doing anything and everything they were doing and just stared at Evan with their mouths wide open.

When it was finally the end of the dance, Sherman went over to Evan and exclaimed, "Wow! You good at dancing. In fact, really good." Before Evan could say anything, he went on, " I think I'm just going to quit dancing forever and leave it to you... At least now I can be a full time ladies' man!"
