Disclaimer: I don't own anything to do with Peter Pan. I just love the book and movie. I wrote this for a poetry class last year. Please review to tell me what you like about it and anything you think can be improved. Thank you!

To Wendy From Peter

When I said to you, "Do come with me,"

I meant forever.

You promised to tell us boys

Your stories of adventure.

And I promised you real adventures.

I promised that you wouldn't have to grow up.

We lived without the cares of the real world

Until you remembered them.

You went back. You grew up.

You grew old.

Why did you do that?

Why have you now gone on to a place beyond Neverland?

I cannot speak with you anymore

Whereas I could before, even as you grew up.

Now, you have gone on to

An adventure where I cannot follow.

You have gone to a place

Where I cannot ask you to mend my shadow.

Can you still fly?

Do you still need fairy dust?

On our adventure, we fought against Hook.

You were so brave.

Show this bravery again

And you will be fine on your last adventure.
