"SAKURAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!"
He remembered everything.
He knew everything.
He remembered how lifeless Sakura looked, within Ashura's grasp. He remembered how enraged and destructive he was feeling at that moment, when Sakura had appeared next to the black wizard, floating, helpless…
He remembered how sore he had felt – his cheeks stained with dry tears, his body physically and emotionally exhausted. His hands and arms were caked with blood – his throat felt very sore. He remembered so much already – he had remembered what he had always wanted to forget.
He had felt violated.
He was forced to remember – forced to remember everything that he had been running away from, everything that he had tried to cover up with a joyful façade.
He remembered the reverberating cry that had been let loose from his throat that day. The cry coming from nowhere, the sound that bounced off the glass walls of the castle of Celes – the chaos never seemed so clear…
He remembered how his eyes had been equivalent to the size of saucers when he saw Sakura, the lovely, conflicted, idealistic, beautiful, innocent princess suspended beside the king of the damned Ashura. He remembered how Ashura had used her in attempts for Fai to grant his wish, to kill him. Why did he have to go and use Sakura? Sakura had nothing to do with the matter!!!!
He remembered how Ashura threatened her life. The life of his princess.
His Sakura-hime.
His Sakura-hime!!!
"SAKURAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!"
Fai shot straight up from his bed, breathing shallowly, trying to calm himself down. He could tell from the moonlight shining from the window that he was drenched with sweat – he put his hands over his eyes, as if trying to rid his subconscious of the hallucination that had just occurred, and took a breath. He took another one – a longer one this time. One last one.
There – he was OK.
He was calm.
It had been a dream.
Thank God.
He hadn't had a disturbing dream like that in a long time. Especially a disturbing dream that involved Sakura.
Sakura…he did miss her. He missed her a lot. It was a shame that she wouldn't be able to accompany him, Kurogane, Syaoran, and Mokona on their journey. A journey that never seemed to stop.
They did visit her every few worlds, though. That was something. He delighted in seeing her eyes light up as the three intrepid warriors (plus the cute Mokona) walked in the Clow Castle. He looked forward to her long hugs, ones that were filled with so much love and hope and happiness – the effects of the hugs often cheered him up for days on end. He listened to every word and every story that the princess had to offer them, and he loved how interested and intrigued she was in all the stories they told her about the worlds they've been to.
He was glad to spend time with Sakura, even if it was only for a little while.
He did miss her.
Maybe the next time they saw her, they could stay a little longer.
If it was possible.
Fai looked out the window, and noticed the night sun staying steadfast in the never-ending sky, a lone wispy cloud next to it.
He smiled.
He was the wispy cloud, and Sakura was the moon.
