We were alone, me and him, him and me. I glanced up to look at him, surprisingly he was asleep on the couch...that was odd. He was usually busy entertaining guests. And where were the rest of the Hosts? Mitskuni was home sick, with Takashi looking after him. The twins were out on a date with Haruhi. So it's just me and him, and he's asleep.

Slowly, as to not awaken him, I closed my laptop and slid my seat back. Another quick glance to see if he stirred, still asleep. Good. Him waking up would be the end. In a few quick paces I crossed the room and stood over him. His golden locks gently falling onto his soft boyish face. His lashes resting lightly on his cheeks, his chest rising and falling, ever so slightly, as he slept. I leaned closer to his face, my glasses sliding down my nose. Quickly I caught them and straightened up. I straightened my tie, and pushed my glasses back up my nose. He could never like me like that, I thought even if he did, I can't let him know. Slowly I turned away from Tamaki, and then turned back. Slowly I took off my glasses and lowered my head toward his. Our lips brushed ever so slightly. Straightening up again I blushed and quickly replaced my glasses and collected my things. Hurriedly I walked toward the door and stopped. One last glance over my shoulder at the sleeping Tamaki, and I was gone.

After the door clicked shut, Tamaki sat up, and then angrily paced the music room. Why didn't I stop him! He could have stayed! We could have… he let his mind wonder about the possibilities. Slowly he walked to the piano and started to play what, he didn't know, but it was long and lonely. He gazed out the window to see Kyoya getting into his limo.

He would never know, they both thought, they could never be together
