It was unsual to see Joker out and about. He could always be found locked up in a secret area, but there he was, his fingers wrestling with the lock of a door. Not anything special, it was just another door to another home in Arkham. That's why Batman actually approached.
"What are you doing here" he asked from behind.
"Oh well if isn't my old friend Bats! How you doing chum!" The Joker tried to kill the suspenscion.
"What are you doing here, Joker" he asked again.
"If you must know, I'm creating a plan to blow up all of Gotham and watch the body parts of the people rain from the sky." He shot Batman a sly smile, but they both knew he was being sarcastic.
"Don't play games with me, Joker" warned Batman. "What is it you're really planning."
"Oh come, cannot I have my own secrets. They always suprise you in the end! But if you really must know...that rabble - rouser Mad Hatter simply walked on into my home, hyponiesed my henchmen and walked off with my beloved Harley."
Jervis Tetch fit Joker's words perfectly. And Batman knew why of all women Harley was his victim. She was Alice, save personality, she was thin with blonde hair and blue eyes. He never though Jervis would be dumb enough to take her like that, he seemed swelled with regular women. He also seemed like too much of a criminal loner to come out of his home and kidnap her. Joker, Two - Face, Penguin, Black Mask, none of them shyed away from revealing themselves, but Hatter lived in solitude.
But why should Batman have cared. Harley's actions were now facing consquences.
"Surely Hatter lives in one of these houses" Joker continued. "Perhaps you would like to help me, hmm? What do you say old friend!"
"You'll have to face Jervis yourself, Joker. I have more important hings to deal with it."
"Oh, come on now! You would not let a defenseless girl be raped and then killed for a man's dellusion, would you, Bats?"
Defenceless? Harley wasn't. And she wan'ts inocent like the Joker potrayed her to be.
"And look at the bright side, the Hatter would be caught? Because from reading the papers, the amount of women being suddenly killed has sky rocket. Surely you know what that's about!" But alll blonde hair and blue eyes."
Joker's words spoke truth for once. This was Batman's chance to find Hatter. Even he had run a rock block trying to find him. He had been so focus with gang feuds he never took time to pay attention to a villain like so. So that is why he chose to help him.
"Oracle. I found the Joker," the Batman said as the Joker led the way.
"And" her voice breaking.
"He needs my help. Harley Quinn was kidnapped by Jervis Tetch, I'm going back to the steel mill to investigate."
She protested but he wouldn't listen.
"It will give me a chance to fit Jervis. It has to be done."
"Bruce, be careful."
"Come now, Bats, the clock is ticking!"
