Jethro Gibbs had never been one to expressively ignore his daughter when she wanted something utterly ridiculous and would cost him a lot of money in the end, but he would not ignore her when she said she wanted a dog. See the thing was, he had been thinking with Shannon that maybe a family dog would be a good idea… See, they would teach Kelly how to care for an animal, how to feed it and take it for walks, and pretty much install a sense of responsibility in their child. A Labrador she had said she wanted. A black one, so she can name it 'Blackie'.
But a week after getting 'Blackie' Jethro Gibbs had never suspected the question, "Daddy, I want a pony."
