"Why do you wanna marry me anyhow?" A small grin tugged at the corners of her mouth as the thunder continued to roll.

"So I can kiss you whenever I want." Bright eyes met and for a minute all the innocent little things seemed to stand still.

It was a first kiss- completely innocent and fueled with an idea that everything would be fine like in the fairytales.

And then the lightening hit.

Emma sat up from her desk, the thunderstorm outside shaking her work location as every continued to work on her up and coming line.

"What the hell, how long was I asleep?"

"Relax it was only for a few minutes. Besides, your country kicks in when it rains." A male jokingly winked at the blond before turning back to fix a hem line.

"What did I say?" Emma whined.

"That we're all getting big fat pay checks," The same male joked as another person moved into room, this one holding a cup of coffee meant for Emma.

"Yeah well if this show doesn't go good we're not getting shit."

"It'll be fine- but don't listen to me I just make the coffee."

"Still, you're a lifesaver Mulan." The blond gave her friend a small smile before walking out with her team to greet the outside world.

"Honey!" Emma squealed before launching herself at the dark haired male standing in the crowd.

"I told you it would be amazing! Did you get my roses?" The man wrapped his arm tightly around Emma in an embrace filled with love and admiration.

"Every single one of them,"

"Good," He gave her a quick kiss before untangling from her. "Listen I've got to run but we've got that thing with my mom tonight. I may not be out of the meeting in time so the driver will come pick you up okay I've really got to go I love you Emma." He rushed out his statement before turning back and exiting. Emma stood dumbfounded, a grin forming before she was brought back into her world. "Love you too Neal."

"Mrs. Swan, we're here." An old man, hair more grey than brown, sat in the front of the Range Rover with a secret smile. His dark eyes glanced back at his customers before looking at the sketchy door in the alley way.

The two walked through dimly light halls before halting at a door. "Mr. Cassidy should be out shortly his meeting went much longer than expected." Right on cue a balding man came through the door and escorted Emma away from her chauffer and to Neal.

"I was thinking two maybe three hundred tops." Her stated as Emma looped her arms through his as they walked through echoing halls.

"For what?" The blonde turned to examine her companion as they stopped in a totally dark room.

"Ireland of course,"

"Honey, Christmas is eight months away."

That's when the lights turned on.

And that's when life started to become far more complicated for Emma Swan.

"Bloody Hell Em. I was your first friend in New York and I have to read about your engagement with everyone else in the city?"

"Sorry honey! He just grabbed my hand what was I supposed to do?" Emma rolled her eyes as the memory from last night was officially in print. The mayor's son engaged: Will it run in the family? Every headline joked about how the mayor had proposed to his wife after a short period of dating and look where that had got the Cassidy family. Divorce.

"Why don't you come hang out? We're just around the corner."

"I can't Ruby. I'm in Alabama." The words came out as if they were made of poison. All Emma's life she wanted out and now that she'd become newly engaged she found herself driving down familiar roads. Ones that held memories wishing not to be repeated.

"Oh.. My God."

"Yeah."
