Hey guys this one shot is in Franks Pov and takes place in SON when Mars appears at camp Jupiter after Percy plays his first war games. constructive criticism is appreciated. please R&R!
"You're Ares" Percy said "what do you want?" a collective gasp went up from two hundred and an elephant. Frank wanted to say something to excuse Percy and placate the god, but he didn't know what. He was afraid the war god would blast his new friend with that extra-large M16 he was carrying.
Instead, the god bared his brilliant white teeth.
"You`ve got spunk demigod", he said "Ares is my Greek form. But to these followers, the children of Rome, I am Mars- patron of the empire, divine father of Romulus and Remus."
Percy squinted his eyes deep in thought trying remember something. Then his eyes widen and he snapped his fingers saying "Santa Monica pier, I was twelve. We fought… and your heel I wounded it." More collective gasps from the campers, Percy fought a god and wounded him impossible, there was absolutely no way. Then suddenly in a flash Mars changed. He was now dressed in a red muscle shirt, black jeans and black leather duster, with a hunting strapped to his thigh. He wore red wraparound shades, the only thing that hadn't change was his brutal face with cheeks scared from past fights. The war god looked down at Percy and took of his glasses revealing eye sockets full of fire. He grinned wickedly as he spoke
"Perseus Jackson old seaweeds kid. Should have known you would bring that up. If only you would have taken Zeus's offer, joined your dad and became immortal then I could crush you whenever I feel like it and you would just pop right back. Everyday day for centuries, never worrying about what your old man would do to me."
"Hey I can fight my own battles Ares, I think I proved that when I got you in the heel how is that feeling by the way? Still sore if you want to fight lets fight" Percy shot back gripping his sword harder. At this point my head was spinning Zeus offered to make Percy Immortal? THIS was Ares? What in Pluto is going on? Mars- or um Ares I guess just laughed.
"Not today kid, I'm no idiot I see what Hera has done to you, your memories are all gone and you gave up the Mark of Achilles." The sky began to rumble with thunder "look I've already said too much I better get down to business." The war god signed. Ares morphed back into Mars who came dressed in Canadian forces desert camouflage, a utility belt with a sidearm, a knife holster and several grenades. The M16 rifle reappeared in his hand. "Now I've come from Olympus with an important message…" As Mars went on to explain the reason for his visit I couldn't help but look over at Percy and wonder who was he really?
