She would be abso100tly perfect.
He told himself this, over and over, as he wiped sweat out of his eyes and held the fragile wiring of the robot as delicately as he possibly could. She would be absolutely perfect. It had always pained him greatly that she was a lowblood, one so animalistic and deplorable that sickening vermillion of the most sludgy hue was what pumped through her veins, that her featherlike eyelashes were a deathly color so rotten and diseased, her life would surely decay into beast food within a couple dozen sweeps.
He touched the slippery, metallic hair and grazed his fingers across her cold, robotic lips.
It had pained him physically to talk to her. How could it be? How could it be that the most repulsively colored words on the spectrum could speak to him with more intelligence and poise than those magnitudes higher on the scale? How could it be that his heart would hammer frantically with flushed feelings for that absolutely deplorable red?
So he swore to himself.
He worked until his fingers were numb and his eyes were running with foggy blue tears and everything shined smooth and metallic and clean.
She.
Would be.
Absolutely.
Perfect.
And then he could finally love her. He could finally hold her in his arms, and say her name aloud where no one else could hear. He could finally let himself speak, open his voice and tell her that she was absolutely beautiful in every possible way. That she had always been and would always be. That her beauty came from her calm dignity, her elegant words, her graceful intellect. That her beauty pumped all the way through her with the cool, sweet blue of her metallic heart.
She should have been born a royal blueblood. He convinced himself of this, told himself that something had gone wrong when she'd been hatched, some terrible mistake had been made, and the most beautiful creature that should have ever set foot on Alternia had been forced into a most vile, perishable body with the most loathsome, common blood in existence.
She would be absolutely, 100% perfect. He would make it so.
He would give her the blood she should've been born with in the first place.
He held her steel hand, touched her steel hair, and kissed her steel lips.
Aradia.
