1Sango knelt over the trembling body of Miroku. He had saved her life yet again and this time it may cost him his own. The demons attacked so fast catching them off guard. Miroku had jumped in front of her taking an attack met for her. She was the one who should be in that position not him. She couldn't lose him, not now. Not after he had promised her his love and she promised him hers. Not after the nights they spent together in each other's arms.
"Miroku, hang on. Kagome will be here soon and she'll fix you up." Sango told him as tears formed in her eyes.
"Sa...Sango...it's to dan...dangerous for you to...to...st...stay here. I'...I'll hold off the demon and...and you...you go." Miroku stammered.
"No…I'm staying with you. If you can't go then neither will I. I'll die right beside you if I have to. You just rest." Sango told him brushing his hair out of his face.
"Sa...Sango...also..re..remember that...I...I...love you. "Miroku choked out.
"I love you too Miroku, please don't leave me." Sango told him as a tear fell down her cheek.
All the sudden the giant demon came crashing out of the darkened forest. Standing, Sango threw Hirakotsu as hard as she could at the demon. As it connected it seemed to have no effect on it. Catching Hirakotsu she readied herself to throw it again. She would do anything to protect Miroku, even if that met dying in the process. He had done it for her and now it was her turn to return the favor. The demon chucked as she threw it again this time catching it. With a smirk he threw the mighty boomerang back at her hitting her head on. Sango fell back against the tree in a daze sliding down it. Her vision began to blur as she felt herself losing consciousness. She couldn't pass out now, she had to protect Miroku.
"Mir...Miroku." She whispered as everything went dark.
In the distance she heard voices, familiar voices. Had Inuyasha and Kagome come to rescue them or was it Naraku who had come to assure that they would be taken care of properly?
