Remus' chance

Chapter 1: The dare

(Remus' POV)

I notice with glee that James is looking at me with a mischievous look and I know without a doubt that I am about to be his next victim. The thing is, I was kind of hoping for it, because I need to do something but I am waiting for an excuse to do it. The look in James's eyes tells me to brace myself cause something dangerous is coming my way, and I can only hope that it is what I need it to be.

And..., here he comes.

I can see it in his eyes.

"Remus, my old friend, truth or dare?"

Oh, he actually did it. If I stop to think about this for a while I might get scared, so I'd better take my chances right now, and hope for the best.

"Dare"

That's it. I said it. And now James, do your part! Please, please make me do what I need to do, even though you obviously don't know what that is. Still I have confidence in you, my old buddy. Just the look in your eyes tells me you're just about to utter the most unconceivable thing for quiet, shy Remus to do. And that's exactly what I want you to do. Because I'm sick of everybody seeing me as that, I'm tired of always being the perfect prefect, and I need to show everybody that I'm just as them; they have to know, that sometimes I don't feel like doing my homework, that sometimes I too use Binn's hour to daydream, that I'm a horny teenager who has wet dreams and wanks like the rest of them. So please James, my friend, give me the chance to stun you, to stun you all.

"Excellent choice, moony, my dear friend, because you see, I have the perfect dare for you" he says with a malicious glimmer in his eyes. "Tomorrow, at dinner time, you'll have to sing a song to Sirius. Ah! But wait there's more, you have to dress up for this little performance, and… you'll have to sing Sirius here a song as if you were intending to seduce him. You have to be believable. I want everybody to fall for you, especially, Paddy here."

Of course all the occupants of the room look at James with wide disbelieving eyes. In the eyes of a lot of them that dare is a little too much, and not even one of them doubts the fact that I am so going to say NO! I suspect that's why the disbelieving stares turn to me when I smirk, seriously, I did; and reply that "of course", and that

"if you excuse me I have a performance to plan". And I leave, just like that, leaving a lot of bewildered people at my wake.

Of course I'm going to do it. This is the perfect chance to show everybody that Remus Lupin is more than a boring bookworm. Not only that, I also have the chance to tell Sirius how I feel for him, but I can do it without fear of rejection, because in the worst case scenario Sirius will believe that it's just the dare.

Oh! I just thought of something! I kinda need an asistant. Ohh! Who to ask!! Oh! I know!

I climb up the stairs to the dorm and stuck my head in. "Uh! Lily!!! I need your help please! Guys would you mind terribly if I borrowed lily to help me with the dare?"
