Red. The color of passion, love, heated desire. It was neither the first color one sees at birth nor the last color before death. It was the perfect color to describe sin. The deep red color of blood. Bleeding for having done something so wrong yet feels so right.
Red was also the color of his hair. Soft shimmering strands that blew with the wind yet seemed to lay perfectly flat every time. Hair that would seem to defy the laws of earth and gravity itself with it's own. Hair unrivaled in its powerful intensity.
His entire life was laiden with sin. If he had dared to go to St. Rudolph as offered before his father transferred to Hyotei elementary school, putting him even further from the much glamoured bording school, he would surely be kicked out. Hyotei was better, but St. Rudolph was notorious for being a top school as well, though the idea of having nuns for teachers was unsettling. Their were several, but most schools that offer scholarships have to be top notch in his mind.
He stared intensely, eyes watching the soft strands rise and fall as his usual double's partner did his usual acrobatic moves, sporting cartwheels and just other movements that could rival last year's national's red headed half of the Golden Pair. He was nice too, but seemed too much of the little good boy to be too much fun to play with. He was a bit more childish... He was a redhead as well...perhaps redheads just leaned towards gymnastics.
"Yuushi!"
He snapped from his thoughts of red haired gymnists before blinking up to their captain and adding the low purr to his voice as he stood from the bench, acting as if he was perfectly alert. "Buchou..."
The azure eyes narrowed at him before the owner huffed. "I told you to play Ohtori... stop being so lazy... even if you are excellent."
He gained a smile that would have made girls swoon and guys stare in envy before moving a hand back through his hair and stepping closer to his captain and taking his hand over the curls, amethyst meeting azure before moving away and laughing, leaving the other boy looking quiet like a fluffed up kitten, too cute to not be able to love but having a small glare and unsettled look.
The match didn't last too long. He wanted to watch rather than play. Probably the only one that could even start to rival him at tennis would be their captain. Though if he really got serious, he could probably even beat him. Few could match a natural after all.
Once the game between the redhead and the sleepy head was over, they bother shook hands and wandered off. He took his chance, grabbing one of the white towels before tossing it to his partner and giving a predatory grin that could only cause the other's cheeks to match his hair quite closely.
It didn't go unsaid that the two of them were too friendly for their own good, but that was beside the point as a hand lifted to the hair. The fact that it was faintly damp with something that could only be sweat did nothing to phase him as he idly combed through the deep red strands, smoothing that was already smooth as probably possible, giving a low purr to show his satisfaction with the feel.
The redhead gave him a glare, but that didn't phase him either as he bent his head to press his lips to a section of lifted strands before letting them fall back to place which only lead to a blank stare from his partner. He gave a low and almost vibrating laugh before gingerly ruffling the strands and walking off.
Perhaps tomorrow... He would see if his hair was naturally red... Only one sure fire way to find out.
