Scars Remind us what is Real…

Scared for his own life, terrified even…and yet, here he was. The man was pale, but collected; face masked from exposing his real emotions…though an apparent nervousness peered through the cracks. He had tracked him down and come running to speak with him. Words tumbled between them, meaningless and confusing to anyone else, but important to him…
"Those scars…on your back, are they like a badge of honour for you…or just a horrible reminder of something you'd rather forget?" McKay asked, completely stunning him with the sincerity in which it was asked. "There are things in the past that we cannot change, you just have to accept them…I try not to let things I cannot change bother me…" Ronan replied, images of his life flashing past his eyes.
Sateda. His Dear Wife. The War. Her body… The Wraith. The Implant… Running. Pain. Fear. Death of Innocents. So many bodies. The Wraith… Atlantis. Home.
There was something in his blue eyes as they stared relentlessly upwards, full of shared sorrow, but why-…oh. Rodney had read his mind, seen what he had seen…knew how he felt. The smaller man lurched forwards to hug him…life devolved into an awkward moment, uncertain what to do as he was clung to tightly, and so gently patted him back with an uncertain expression on his face.
Rodney stepped back without making eye contact, his hands swung as the blue gaze flickered to his own and then away, "Hope you don't mind…I just healed them…" and he was gone. Leaving Ronan to hastily touch the soft, tingling patch of skin where his scars once were and knowing this new sensation was far more meaningful…
Now it was his turn to help…
The End
As I said, a random little idea I got...hope you liked it.
