Sakura petals covered the place. The corpses. The blood. They easily changed the aroma into a gentle and sweet atmosphere. You could stare at those Sakura trees forever, just to stop the time and enjoy viewing the trees.
Okita Sougo, who was signed into an important mission far away from Edo, looked at those trees which surrounded him. His uniform and face was covered with blood from the people he just killed. It was his job, although he slacks off from it many times, when it comes to dirty jobs like this he would just do it.
A sakura petal landed on his palm, and a memory was playing in his mind
It was almost the same, Sakura petals covered the place and made the scene lovely and gave a warm feeling. But no corpses of blood were found in the place.
In front of him was a young girl, with orange hair and a purple umbrella in her hand which was opened wide. She wore Chinese clothes, which were her casual clothes, and a big smile was formed on her face
"Here" She held her hand towards him, and in her palm was a single Sakura petal.
"I heard that you are going to a long mission that is far away from Edo, so this is a reminder to you that you have me, the queen of the kabukicho, waiting for you here to kick your ass! So if you are going to be killed I'm not going to forgive you!" She said and forcibly put that petal in his hand "Got it?!"
Sougo squeezed the Sakura petal in his hand, and muttered "Got it"
"Hey Sougo! What are you spacing out for? We got a work to do!" The vice Commander Hijikata Toushiro popped out, making Sougo realizing that the mission is yet to be over. Without any comment Sougo put the petal in his pocket and went forward, continuing his mission.
