When I was a freshman in high school, my nerdy friends and I wrote fanfiction. One day, I got this idea. Well, five and a half years and half of Nursing school later, I finally finished it.

This story has meant so much to me, between all of the research I did to create it and all of the time I spent working on it. And it is my way of proving to myself that I can actually complete something- and something that I am proud of, at that.

I hope that this story means something to you as well, whether you have gone through this fight or know someone who has, I hope that I did honor to the journey that you had to go through.

Thank you to everyone who was reading this story when I first started writing it in 2013, and to everyone who will read it now. It means a lot to me that you are sitting down and reading this dream that I have had inside of me for so long. If you want to just pick up from where it left off, skip to Chapter 19. (I did change some things in the beginning chapters, though none of it changes the major plot points in the story).

An extra special thank you to possibly the best friend I could have ever asked for. Not only has she been reading this story and helping me with it from the very beginning, but she has also read every word and helped me with every missing comma, every mistyped word, and every plot hole. This story wouldn't be half as good for her, and I am so grateful to her.

I also need to include the obligatory disclaimer. I did not create (most) of these characters. They belong to the wonderful minds of Steve Frank, James Roday, and everyone else in the Psych family. I am thankful to them for giving me awesome characters to play with and wonderful dialogue to draw from. Many of the quotes I used were directly from what they wrote, and I do not take credit for any of them.

I have to dedicate this story to three little girls in particular who have won their fight with cancer in heaven. They were very special fighters and even after their passing, they have changed the world.

I also dedicate this story to everyone who has ever had to fight or will have to fight in the future. You can do it.

Stay Strong.
