Disclaimer- I own nothing, nothing I tell you, not even that glass dolphin (it broke the other day weeps) so no One Piece is not mine the crew is not mine and Zoro (to my eternal regret) is not mine weeps even more

The reason

Meal times aboard the Going Merry, never the best of times. No-one could ever call the mass production of hastily made meat and wonderfully prepared treats for Nami-Swan and Robin-Chwan an organised affair. But then what with all the declarations of all out war over the last tasty morsel and the constant ducking and diving under the table to avoid a face full of newly eaten food, no-one could call it a dull one either !

It is a time for the crew to get together, eat, drink and generally be (as the name of their ship suggests) merry. It is a time when the whole crew can relax, smile and laugh with one another over another days hectic events on the Grand Line. All the crew that is bar one …

… Ronoroa Zoro simply does not laugh. He takes no delight in the shitty ero-cooks culinary delights and he definitely does not join in with all that happy fluffy stuff! Nuh uh, not him, not the soon to be greatest swordsman in the world. Once he's eaten he leaves, if it's early he trains with a single purpose- to get stronger. If he's already trained he trains some more, and more … and more … and more… then perhaps a nap. If it's too dark then he simply sits outside on the deck.

Inside the lights flicker, casting worrying shadows on the wooden walls of the ship and ominous shouts, crashes and bangs can be easily heard coming from inside the kitchen where the rest of the crew stay in the warmth and comfort of each others companionship. But not Zoro. He stays outside in the cold and solace of his own company.

Why? Easy, because he's a stupid marimo with the social skills of a squashed pineapple, to quote a certain cook. But the real reason? Well, if he's outside, stationary by the door behind which lie his nakama, his precocious nakama (although he'd never admit it himself) then no-one else can get in.

And so that's why he remains outside, alone, stationary, on guard … always protecting.

A.N – I know its short but please still review, it only takes two seconds of your time and it makes me so happy :D
