*AN: Welcome to the first installment of our (possibly longer?) 999 fanfic. We are proud to present to you, the first ever SYOC of 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. Enjoy! c: ~Ninjer

PS: The SYOC is open! The form is on our page if you wanna go ahead and take a look at that! We have not yet come up with a set number of characters to be accepted as it will be dependent on the number of people who submit. The more submissions, the more characters!

"...Language is a powerful tool. Through it, society has blossomed. As humanity has evolved, it has developed a complex system of linguistics. Take the Indo-European languages, for example; from them, humanity has derived countless dialects, no two alike. Many factors have segregated these unique patterns: geography, ethnicity, and assimilation, for example. A truly amazing process.

"While astounding, languages have limits. In comparison to the boundless universe surrounding them, they fall short. They are just too different to flourish. Because of their diversity, the human race lacks potency. Instead, the human race need focus its sights on something much greater. Something that transcends the very physical being of the race. Something imperceptible to the naked eye. They must channel their intelligence into one unified understanding; through this, the human race will reach a level of mastery unbeknownst to the masses.

"How was that?" A white Turkish Angora with long, fluffy fur asked. Its single blue eye and single green eye trained on a dark figure.

The figure gave a nod, "Good, good kitten."

The kitten's eyes flashed as it purred, "I'm glad I pleased you, master."

"I'm glad you did too, pet. I'm glad you did too."

"When will they be coming, sir?"

"They will come in threes, starting tomorrow. And once they are all here…"

"Yes? Yes?!"

The cat's master flashed it a cold smile, "Once they are all here, the game will begin."

And that is it. If you would like to submit a character, head on over to our profile! Until next time! ~GingerNinjer19

[Edit]: In case you didn't read the summary (Let's be honest, who does?), a little something to keep in mind is that the story line and the actual game are both completely made up by us! ~Ninjer
