"Daniel." thats what Kate called him.
"Daniel." It was just the way that she said his name.
"Daniel." It was enough to help him concentrate even in his comatose state.
"But she's engaged. I'm no good for her. I'm dangerous. I'm a burden. She's in love with someone else," he thought to himself.
His mind, in the form of his mother asked, "Do you love her?"
That is the question isn't it. He certainly had feelings for her. They were friends. They were partners. He was, in many ways, dependent on her. It made sense that he would have romantic feelings toward her. After all, the only person he spent more time with than her was Max, and although he did love Max, it was in a drastically different manner.
Wait, but what did he mean by drastically different? Did he mean he loved her in ... that way? Well, on some level he must.
"But she was my student," he said berating himself. Even though it had been years since she was actually in his class.
"Well, she always was my best student, one of my favorites," he thought to himself with a slight smile.
When he woke up from this bizarre hallucination about his dead cousin, who he didn't actually have, he would start figuring out a way to tell her how he felt.
"Wait," he though, "I swear I can hear her talking, not the hallucination, but her, the real her, reaching him through his dreams."
"Daniel," she said her voice breaking, "Daniel, you have to wake up. I-I can't do this anymore."
"NO!" Daniel's mind screamed.
"NO KATE PLEASE COME BACK!"
He was stunned how could she do this? How could she leave him? He thought Kate understood him and his he needed her how could she just give up and leave? He had to reach out to her. He couldn't let her go. But she walked away and he still couldn't snap himself out of the delusion. So, he did the only thing he knew how to do, solve the case. Both the one in real life and the one that he had invented in his own mind, as a way of keeping her with him.
It took some time but he managed to crack both of them and finally come out of him coma-like state of delusion.
"Ka-Kate Kate!" he called out from his slumber as he finally awoke.
I own nothing. Thanks for all the reviews, favs, follows, and for just watching Perception in general.
I 3 this show.
Not sure if I'll write more for this. It'll probably depend on how this one does soooo ...
