"What's going on?" I asked, trying to look past the staring and growing crowd.
"There are some Akatsuki passing by! That's a rare occasion. They never pass through the middle of Amegakure like this." an old lady told me. "Look ,there they are!" A lot of people started crowding behind me, pushing and yelling. People kept going on, until I found myself to the front. The two Akatsuki started approaching sending some people into an uproar. I didn't see why everyone was getting so excited about it. It's just two people.
In the middle of my thoughts, some little kids started pushing each other, one of them knocking into me. I fell in the ground with a thud, yelping in pain. Everyone started getting quiet all of a sudden, while I was catching my breath. But things were starting to feel intense. I looked up, only to see two figures in front of me. One had long, blonde hair. Some of it pulled into a ponytail. But the other one, the one I fell in front of, had messy blood red hair. He stared down at me, his dark brown eyes almost piercing through my aqua blue ones. Realizing how much commotion I started, I immediately stood up to the side, not minding some of the mud on my knees and shirt.
I bowed respectfully. "I-I'm sorry!" was all I could choke out. I expected a scolding or a cold shoulder, even a slap from one of the missing S-rank criminals. But I felt a warm hand pat the top of my head. I looked up to see if I hit my head or something, but the red-haired man kept his hand on my head, giving me a small smile. For what felt like hours, within seconds he took his hand off and carried on, his partner following. I stood straight up, blushing. Who was he, and why did he treat me so kindly?
I blushed a little, and started walking home, ignoring the stares.
