This is my take on reading some Casualty spoilers. Ethan/ Cal. I'm loving writing for these two at the moment.

Ethan's New Flat

Ethan Hardy was still lay in a hospital bed, but he felt better in himself, he had been took off the ventilator and heart monitor. He had, had one constant visitor and that had been: Cal. Others had visited too: Lily, Rita, Ash, and Dixie.

Ethan felt responsible for the death of Jeff, whose funeral had been last week, as he had been the driver. Nobody could have predicted that he was going to go back and the car was going to go in to flames, but Jeff was a paramedic, and paramedics, sometimes had to put their lives on the line to save others and that's what Jeff did. He died a hero.

Ethan looked at Dixie, whose eyes were watering.

"Are you OK?" He asked quietly, awaiting her answer.

Dixie sniffed as she replied. "Yeah" It was obvious that she wasn't, she was just trying (and failing) to put on a brave face because Jeff just hadn't been her husband, he had also been her best friend, somebody she could have a laugh with. Tamzin had left because she couldn't cope with the fact he was going to marry her and she'd buried him.

A few weeks later Ethan had been released and had been asked by clinical lead Zoe (Connie had handed the role back to her as she wanted to spend some more time with her daughter Grace and had left the ED to head to London where she had been since leaving the hospital the first time when she had worked with Elliot Hope, Micheal Spence and Jac Naylor. ) to take some time off to recuperate from his injuries. He would still get full pay, but on sick leave.

Cal helped Ethan get around his new home. It was spacious and on the ground floor. It had three rooms. Living room, kitchen, and a main bedroom, along it, had a smaller bedroom.

"Thanks Cal " Ethan had truly appreciated his brother's help over the last few weeks.

"No problem buddy " Cal replied as Ethan wheeled himself in to the living room to see what Cal had done.

There were two cream couches, a small coffee table and a TV. Usually he would go running but with his left ln in plaster he would have to find something else to occupy him. Cal was going to come round when he wasn't working.

"Right " Cal said, looking at his watch. "I best be going "

Ethan nodded as Cal patted his shoulder. He wanted his brother to stay but was too proud to ask him.

Cal turned around as he stood in the hallway and put his jacket back over the couch.

He was going to stay to keep Ethan company for a while. He wasn't in work tomorrow, so he could stay with him then too.

Cal and Ethan may bicker, but deep down, they loved each other.

A little longer than my last one.
