Fine Then
(A/N: This takes place after Lightning's twenty-first birthday. But, l'Cie don't exists, but Snow is dating Serah like in the game. Lightning and Snow are discussing why/if they should stop their relationship. And I prefer Éclair from Claire and Lightning.)
Éclair Farron stood in front of her childhood friend, Snow Villers. The sun behind her did nil to warm her; no, she would stay in her icy shell. Éclair's fists were balled up a natural pose. Her eyes glared upon Snow, his eyes warm. The wind from the south blew their hair into their eyes, but they made no move to fix it.
Snow stared at Éclair. Why do you want to break up with me? He asked silently to himself. Is this because of Serah? As though Éclair knew, she answered him.
"Of course this is about Serah. You date her while you date me? No, you'll pick one and only one. Now, go back to Serah and keep her safe." Éclair's eyes were glossy, and Snow sighed. He knew he couldn't win a fight again her. He would still try though.
"Please, Éclair. Why can't I pick you?" Éclair scoffed.
"Why would you pick me? I'm...not fit for you." She couldn't name her faults in front of Snow for some strange reason. They had known each other their whole lives, so why couldn't she tell him? Snow sighed again, knowing he had lost the fight. He could win her back to matter how he tried. He walked into the house, and Éclair turned around.
"I still care for you. I always will." With that, Snow Villers walked into the house and didn't come back out. The autumn wind bit at her skin, but Éclair just gritted her teeth. Why was she so upset? It's not like she needed him. It's not like she can't make Serah happier than he ever could. ...But maybe he could. Éclair growled and began to walk away from the house.
Am I not ever Human?
