Promises
They promised to grow old together. To have kids, and grandchildren. They would both retire from their job as ninjas and live a peaceful life somewhere in a forest. Their grandchildren would be playing on the swingset they made when the house was first made and together, they would watch from the balcony, smiling like old married couples should. But promises are made only to be broken right? So she should have just been content when he purposed and she accepts. Should've been grateful that fate had been kind to her thus far. However, fate doesnt stay on our side forever does it?
'I promise Hinata-chan, when i save enough, we'll move out into the forest where we can start a new life. We'll build a new home, have children, and grandchildren. And when we're old, I'll wait for you to die first so you wouldn't have to cry from losing me!' Naruto beamed at the young Hyuuga who was currently, blushing a million shades of red.
Hinata sat on her balcony as she watched her grandchild play on the old swingset that had been constructed along with the house as her daughter and son in-law pushed her lightly from behind. This is almost like the way it was supposed to be. Almost. It would have been perfect except he wasn't here and he would never be here because he was gone. Blown away with the wind, up into the sky. The thin line between reality and dreams will forever separate her, him, and their happy ending.
She was pregnant! She was pregnant! She couldn't wait to tell Naruto the news. He was going to be a father. They were one step closer to their dream. She closed her eyes in bliss as she could only imagine his reaction. Yes, she would tell him as soon as he returns from his last mission. His last becuase he had promised to leave when he returns and finally makes enough.
'Naruto-kun...' She leaned back on her old rocking chair, slightly startling the cat beside her. In her hands were an old photo picture frame. Dust decorated the thin piece of glass that protected the delicate picture incased within. Hugging it closer to her heart, she could feel a small tear trickle down her cheek and landing on the small frame, clearing enough dust to see what was inside. Smiling brightly was Uzumaki Naruto, and beside him, was none other than Hyuuga Hinata in a wedding kimono.
'Gomen Hinata, I failed you...' His last words echoed in her mind as his fingers loosened thier hold on hers and his eyes fluttered shut. They were so close to their dream, after this mission, they would runaway from Konoha, from everyone who wanted to separate them. They would live in a place where no one knew them, where no one could find them and take away their happiness. They were so close, and yet so far.
Ok, so maybe that was kinda crappy...review?
