It was all over. They had found One Piece, and all of their dreams had come true. Zoro started his own dojo. Usopp became a rogue marksman. Nami became a well known thief. Sanji started his own restaurant, and used food items from the All Blue. Robin became an archaeology teacher.
And Monkey D. Luffy… was dead. He had too many injuries, and his body couldn't keep up with it. But with his death he was happy, because he had become a famous pirate and he shared it with his nakama. He had died 5 years after he had found One Piece. And the doctor, Chopper, couldn't help but feel that it was all his fault. He hadn't had completed his panacea in time. The other crewmates said that he shouldn't feel bad, that it wasn't his fault. But he knew it was his fault.
So one night on the deck of the Going Merry, after everyone had decided that they would return to their original homes after they went to bed, Chopper held a gun to his head.
"…A doctor can't fail his patients…"
And with that, he pulled the trigger, and the deck was coated with his blood. He was glad that he could go see Luffy and tell him that he was sorry. He was finally happy…he couldn't fail anymore patients…because he wasn't alive.
