The trainee stared in abject horror at his master. When he had asked to be taught the ways of the Assassin he didn't think something like this would be involved.

"You want me to leap off the top of this building into that tiny, far away stack of hay? Are you insane!" He exclaimed in disbelief. His master, Ezio Auditore, gazed at his student from under his hood.

"Is this any different to leaping from a house, or any number of other smaller buildings. You have done this before only on a smaller scale. This is the best and most effective way to get down from a tall building after an assassination. It is also helpful to reach a hiding spot from which you can kill guards without being noticed. What is the problem?"

The trainee opened his mouth to argue. Then snapped it shut again when he realised there was nothing he could say. Breathing deeply, he visibly steeled himself.

"I suppose this is why it is called a leap of faith?" He asked, shoulders slumping in as he resigned himself to a possible death by stupidity. At least it would be sudden. Ezio smirked.

"I believe so. Follow my lead and judge the distance and angle well."

With that Ezio leapt off the building and dived down the 50 metres to the ground in a graceful arch before flipping in mid-air to land on his back. Safe.

The trainee took a deep breath…

And jumped.
