Okay, so I've got some more of my longer stories written, but I want five or six chapters done before I post either of them that way I'm a little ways ahead of the game, so here's a little one-shot to tide you over until then. Enjoy!

"Did you really have to be so hard on the boy, Minerva?"

"Yes, Albus. It is time that he learned that pranks are not always merely entertainment."

"Who are we talking about this time?"

"James Potter, Severus."

"Of course. He's just like his namesakes you know, always causing trouble, never with a care for those of us who are actually trying to get work done."

"Please, Severus. You are not trying to get work done anymore. You are a portrait."

"Even so, I have things that I would like peace and quiet for and whenever one of those Potter brats is in your office I can't get a moment of sleep or rest. They are so very impertinent to us portraits. And you must have one of them in here at least once a week."

"Severus, you are far too hard on them. They're just teenagers, after all."

"Yes, and I was much better behaved than them at that age, Albus."

"You mean besides the whole dark magic, running around with future Death Eaters problem?"

"Minerva, we've already been over this. Severus had repented and has been loyal to the Order and only the Order since the day when Voldemort attempted to kill Harry at Godric's Hollow."

"Yes, yes... How did we get onto this topic again?"

"I suggested that you were being too hard on Mr. Potter."

"Ah, of course. Albus, you and Severus are both portraits now. Although you are both previous headmasters and will ask for your advice if I find that I need it, I do not need you interfering in the way that I run my school or choose to punish my students."

"Yes, I always thought that you were too soft with them."

"Yes, Severus, and you were too hard on them. I try to come to a happy medium."

"Of course, of course, Minerva. I'm sorry for having doubted your judgment in the matter."

"..."

"Really, though? Isn't two weeks of detention a bit of an overreaction for a mere prank that was meant in good fun?"

"He turned the Great Hall into a beach! It took Lupin, Weasley and myself two hours to put it right again! Not to mention all of the sand!"

"Yes, it really should have been a month."

"Severus, it was a harmless prank. He doesn't deserve more than a week for that at most. Most of the students probably found it amusing."

"Yes, especially when the girls, including the female teachers, were charmed into bikinis and the boy and male teachers into board shorts."

"Quite right, Minerva. I would have found that amusing myself."

"I was being sarcastic, Albus."

"I did always appreciate your dry sense of humor, Minerva, but I have to wonder... Were you one of the female teachers who was charmed into a bikini?"

"Yes, Minerva. You can't leave us to wonder."

"Why does it matter?"

"Simply for the sake of curiosity. We portraits do tend to get bored up here on the wall. It's not like we have all that many places to go. We like to know what's going on in the school."

"I understand that, Albus, but I do not have the time to amuse you with tales of mischief. It's a busy job to keep this school from dissolving into complete and utter chaos, as both of you should know, even without a war going on."

"Yes, all of those Weasley and Potter brats to punish every hour of every day. How they all ended up being just like their parents I don't know!"

"Severus, I have said it before and I will say it again you're much too hard on them all. Just because you were a model student-"

"SILENCIO!"

"..."

"..."

"That's better."
