Kenny thought he was going to die, like he did every other day adventuring with his friends.
Though the term friends was used so lightly it may have been white.
Still, flashes of light from the strange alien device usually meant less than instantaneous slightly crispy death, not portals to...somewhere else.
Sitting up, Kenny lent against the alley wall. His ribs hurt and poked something uncomfortable above his sternum. Not dying sometimes was more annoying, but he left his "out" at home and couldn't just wake up in his bed and pretend the day had never occurred.
He was in an alleyway though, maybe it wouldn't be so hard to find someone to "help" him.
Pushing himself to his feet, Kenny limped further down the alley. It took lest time than he anticipated, but he only had experience with small town crime.
The next thing he knew the sun was shining against his face. Kenny yawned and opened up his eyes to see... the same alley he had died in last night.
That had never happened before.
He shrugged. Everyone back in South Park had probably forgotten about yesterday, and he had to get back in time for class. There was a test he couldn't afford to miss if he wanted to move to the next grade.
Standing, Kenny brushed the grime from his coat.
