As I walked through the corridor my heart started beating faster and faster. I felt like there was something in my throat and I could choke at any moment.

When I saw her name written on that door, I could feel every vein in my face pulsing. "God, I'm so stupid. Why am I doing this? I could just leave", I thought. But if I did, I would never forgive myself. So I stood there for a moment, raised my fist and knocked.

"Oh my God, it's true. You came.", she didn't look happy at all, only really surprised. "Hey..." I managed to say while I smiled, hoping she wouldn't notice how nervous I was. Well, she did. "Sorry, come in, please."

I entered her dressing-room and watched her close the door. She turned her head and looked at me. I mean, really looked at me; from head to toe. Then she came closer and, with a broken smile on her face, hugged me tight. It was so hard not to crack; after all that time, all the pain, all of my wrong choices... She received me and she hugged me.

"I just couldn't leave without telling you how incredible your concert was. Really, I had so much fun." I said, slowly pushing her away and looking at the other direction, trying to hide the tears that wanted to come out. "Aw, thank you. And thank you for coming, I missed you."

Suddenly someone knocked at the door and started talking outside the room. "Honey, are you alright? There are some people here who want to talk to you." I assume it's her boyfriend - Dana - and reality hit me like a fucking lightning. "Just a momen-" and I interrupted immediately "It's OK, I really need to go right now. My son Walker is waiting for me. I just came by to say hello and congratulate you."

I swear that, for a second, I could see sadness in her eyes; but soon she recomposed herself and smiled again. "It meant a lot to me." I kissed her cheek and walked to the door.

"Idina."

"Yes?" I stopped.

"I'm really sorry about you and Taye."

"Thanks..." I tried to look happy. "It's fine, it was for the best."

She smiled to me for a last time and I left, closing the door behind me. Dana was waiting outside accompanied by some people - Kristin's friends, probably. By the astonishment in his eyes when he saw me leaving, I concluded what Kristin and I had was important enough for her to tell him everything.

Well, that was awkward.
