Just an idea that popped into my head and wanted to write it out! As usual these characters belong to JK Rowling!

The doorbell rang through the spacious Malfoy Manor, and Narcissa Malfoy raised her head from the book in her lap. She wasn't expecting anyone, and to her knowledge, neither was her husband, Lucius. Previous experience of dealing with unexpected callers taught Narcissa to be on guard. She rose from her seat in the sun room as she heard an elf rush to the front door.

As she walked towards the foyer, she heard the door of the study creak open. Lucius, too, was curious about who could be at their door. Her eyes laid on the imposing double doors as the tiny elf managed to pry them open. Whoever was on the other side was met with an excited gasp from the elf. Now impatient to see who had come to visit, Narcissa quickly crossed the distance to the front door.

"Who is it?" she gazed down at the elf, Dipsy, as the elf heaved the door open. Her eyes flew to the person standing before her. Her hands flew to her mouth as a gasp stole past her lips.

"Who is there?" Lucius asked impatiently, wrenching the door further open. Words left him as he met his son's gaze. The son who had vanished from their sight after the war. The son whothey had secretly hoped would return to them someday. The son who was standing before them with a little girl clutched in his arms.

"Draco," Narcissa murmured. "Where have you been?"

"Who is this?" Lucius asked, his eyes trained on the small toddler who was watching them with interest.

"Your grandaughter," his son replied with a small smirk.

"Grand-granddaughter!" Narcissa spluttered. "I'm too young to be a grandmother!" Draco gave her a pointed look.

"I've been up north, putting my life back together after the War."

"So, you've been in England all this time? Why didn't you return home? You could have rebuilt your life with your family," Narcissa asked, her eyes flitting between her son and grandchild.

"I was rebuilding it with my family. My new family," Draco stated. "I wasn't sure if you would approve at first. It was only when I heard how you had changed your ways that I decided to bring my family to meet you."

Lucius' gaze narrowed as he focused on the features of the little girl that didn't originate from Draco.

"And who is the mother of your child?" he asked warily.

"Me." Draco stood to the side, as Hermione Granger walked up the stone steps to the front door.

"Hermione Granger?!" Lucius exclaimed.

"Actually, it's Malfoy now," Hermione corrected him with a grin, as she clasped hands with Draco.

"Well... this calls for a stiff drink," Narcissa murmured, and directed her shocked husband in the direction of the drinks cabinet.
