Like the summary says, wrote this after watching Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest. I love when Pintel and Ragetti are in the rowboat
and Ragetti is trying to read the Bible, even though he can't read. That scene always made me laugh. Hope you enjoy! PS: this story takes place in season 1.
It's the Bible, You Get Credit For Trying!
Sam opened the door to yet another of he and his brothers terrible motel rooms and found Dean sitting on his bed, doing something very unlike him.
"Are you...reading?" He asked his elder brother in astonishment, walking over to him. Dean looked up from his book.
"Yeah," he replied nonchalantly.
"Seriously, you're actually reading?" Sam pushed, dumfounded.
"Hey! I read!" Dean exclaimed, seeming offended.
"I meant besides Busty Asian Beauties," Sam clarified.
"Oh," Dean mumbled.
"But of all the books in the world, that's the one you decided to read?" Sam asked his brother incredulously.
"What?" Dean queried, still sounding offended, "You think I can't read the Bible?"
"Can you?" Sam questioned, and Dean looked confused. He rephrased the question, "Do you understand any of it?"
"Pffffh, of course I do," his older sibling boasted, waving a hand as if it were nothing. Sam grinned.
"What does this sentence mean?" He asked, pointing to the bottom of his brother's current page. Dean examined the sentence for a good few moments, opened his mouth to answer, then closed it again. He looked up at Sam and scowled.
"It's the Bible! You get credit for trying!" he exclaimed indignantly, chucking the heavy book at his now retreating younger brother.
Hope you got a laugh out of that. Before I forget, I don't own that saying. That's Disney's, as are the characters Pintel and Ragetti. Sam and
Dean are Kripke's, and I own nothing :P Later!
