„You can't catch me!", she shouted in joy as she ran away from him. He chased her through the dark forest, able to catch her but not wanting to end this soon. He loved to see her laugh. It was midnight and the stars shone upon her face, making her hair shine in a dark red. For him it was the most beautiful sight he had ever laid his eyes on.
The red-haired maiden ran and hid behind a tree to catch her breath. Thinking that she was save, she didn't expect two strong hands take a hold of her waist.
„I've got you", her capturer whispered in her ear. She shrieked in surprise and turned around.
Grinning, he pushed her against the tree, trapping her there with his arms. Her breath caught in her throat as she looked into his blue eyes, getting lost in the ocean.
„What do I get now?", he asked then, still grinning.
„Excuse me?", she asked, coming back to reality.
„I want a present, my little Lady of Starlight. A present for catching you", he said, watching her eyes widen.
„And what, my prince, are you imaging it to be?", she whispered.
„A kiss", he whispered in return and leaned down to meet her lips.
„I don't think so", she replied and turned her head away, his lips meeting only her cheek.
„You only get a kiss if you deserve one", she said while smiling, her eyes shining with mischievous.
She tried to wriggle put of his grasps but failed.
„I could steal one from you", he whispered, making her eyes widen in pretended shock.
„You wouldn't!", she called out but laughed as he did too.
„I catched a star. I think that is enough to deserve one", he said, leaning in again. He gently placed his lips upon hers. This time she didn't pull away.
„Amin mela lle", he whispered. „You are my light"
I shook my head as I came back to present. This felt so far away. A happy time. The time before the world darkened. I wished I could be with her right now. Hold her living body in my arms, never let her go. We had so little time with each other, wanting to spend eternity together, but failed.
„Legolas, what are you thinking of?", Aragorn asked from beside me.
„Nothing", I said and looked ahead. But still my thought were by her as I looked into the night.
She was my star, my light. Every night reminded me of her. Every star.
I would try running to the stars, trying to catch them, but I would fail, for they would never come closer. I would chase them, chase her. But I would be only chasing starlight.
Amin mela lle – I love you
